Vision
"Conversar" is the Spanish word for "converse." Conversa speech-hearing and language therapy pledges to be client-centered. Providing personalized, high-quality intervention, for all in need. Providing communication tools for all modalities and abilities.
Conversa Therapy is a mentoring clinic, providing graduate level university students the opportunity for clinical mentorship.
Business Owner
I am excited to support the speech and language needs of the Sonoma County community. My experiences span early education, community hospital care, home health, schools, and thanks to the pandemic, teletherapy. I am bilingual in Spanish and English.
I fell in love with this field because at the center of all the theory and evidence based practices, is an individual; an individual with thoughts, goals, ambitions, limitations, loves, hates, family, desires, and frustrations. Tailoring individualized intervention plans that result in growth and personal success is both your and my reward.

Professional Bio
Cynthia is a certified speech language pathologist by the American Speech-Hearing Association, ASHA. She obtained a Master of Science degree in clinical speech pathology from Northern Arizona University, and completed post graduate coursework in Augmentative and Alternative Communication, AAC, from the University of Ohio and Northern Arizona University. She is a certified dementia care specialist through Evergreen, ECDCS. In addition, Ms. Carrera has formal training in the following areas:

We met Mrs. Cynthia Carrera when we were beginning to have IEP discussions with our school. She was the new Speech Therapist in our school district; my son was six then (now eight). From the very first meeting, my husband and I felt re-assured and relieved. I knew that she would be an advocate for my son because of her positivity and keen understanding of neurodiverse children. We had the privilege of having 2 of our children work with Ms. Carerra. Our daughter was only in speech for a short time and quickly graduated. Our son however, had been in speech therapy since he was two years old.
Once he was school-age, the quality of speech therapists and services decreased incredibly. Then we met Ms. Carrera, she took the time to truly understand his history and where he was at currently.
He grew leaps and bounds during his time with her. Both of our kids really grew a bond with her and worked hard for her. I truly appreciate her level of expertise, attention to detail, and her easy connection with the kids.

Pricing and Insurance
INSURANCE
Accepting: Sutter Health Plus & Providence, St.Joseph. LOA contracts are accepted on a case-by-case basis.
SESSIONS
Scheduling for half hour treatment sessions, fourty five minute sessions, and one hour treatment sessions.
COST
Assessments rates vary $300-$800. Therapy, $160/hr. Parent education and consultation rate, $125/hour. District contracts to be arranged directly between Conversa Therapy and school district for compensation services, IEE, and in-person services.
